Our Hiring Process

    • Nannies apply through Tendwell with detailed work history, childcare philosophy, and references.

    • We screen for professionalism, maturity, and alignment with Tendwell’s values of respect, reliability, and care.

    • Candidates must meet our minimum threshold of professional childcare experience – 3+ years for full time placements, 1+ for backup care network placement.

    • Resumes, certifications, and work history are thoroughly verified.

    • Each candidate completes one-on-one interviews with our founder.

    • We evaluate not just skills, but personality, communication style, passion for their job, and compatibility with nanny life.

    • Every nanny must provide a minimum of three strong references from past families or employers.

    • References are personally contacted to confirm professionalism, reliability, and quality of care.

    • National, state, and county-level background checks.

    • Driving record checks for any role involving transportation.

    • Social media and online presence reviews, going back 7 years.

    • CPR/First Aid certification confirmed (or required prior to placement).

    • Any additional relevant certifications (early childhood education, newborn care, teaching, etc.) verified.

    • If looking for a newborn or infant placement they must provide further certifications and 3+ years of newborn specific job history and references.

    • Nannies are assessed for alignment with Tendwell’s professional standards: respect, professionalism, reliability, warmth, and discretion.

    • We only move forward with nannies we would personally trust in our own homes.

    • We carefully match nannies with families based on experience, parenting style, childcare philosophies, and long-term fit.

    • Families meet only highly vetted finalists, saving time and eliminating stress.

    • Once a match is made, Tendwell provides a structured onboarding process to set clear expectations and routines.

    • We continue offering management support to both families and nannies to ensure lasting success.
